Setting yourself up for an even better 2018

Happy Holidays! I hope you’re enjoying the season if you celebrate.

I’ve been inundated with merry-making activities (a.k.a. niece and nephew stuff), so I’ll keep this short and sweet.

I know some of you had a great year – you received funding, moved into new offices, increased your revenues, weaved user feedback into your workflows 😉 … for that I applaud you. You did good.

For a few, 2017 left little to be desired. If you’re of this opinion, here’s a reframe: your struggles are an opportunity to set yourself up for an even better 2018.

So if you haven’t already done so, run this year through a retro: What worked? What didn’t? And what can you do in the next 12 months to end the madness?

If you want to take it a step further, be specific about your goals for next year. (If you want scale, what does scale look like exactly?) Then work backwards from your desired outcomes to determine what you must invest in terms of time, money and other resources in order to get there.

Some stuff may come up as you do this, and you might have to face some things, but trust me when I say it’s worth it.

Alright, time for me to consume my favorite holiday beverage. I suggest you do the same.

Or you can enjoy it while you’re retro-ing and strategizing. Your choice.

Wishing you and yours a magical holiday season. Cheers!

And until next time,
K
