It’s hard to find the motivation for photography when I feel there’s nothing to photograph. It doesn’t matter if my calendar is full or free. If I’m not 100% certain that I’ll get a few good photos, I won’t go.

But as one photographer pointed out, maybe it’s not that there’s nothing to photograph… maybe I don’t know what, exactly, to photograph. There’s always something to capture, I just need to commit to a subject, object or whatever and get after it.

So today I grabbed my camera, ignored the bright sunlight and set out to capture a snowy little scene at the edge of a nearby pond.

The photos I took won’t win any awards, but I left the house with my camera gosh darn. That’s enough of a win for me 🙂
